The Government Equalities Office (GEO) has published a table that sets out the similarities and differences between marriage and civil partnership in England and Wales. The GEO table applies to same-sex and opposite-sex couples and, among other things includes information on pensions relating to:
• State Pensions for married couples and civil partners
• State Pensions for widowed married couples and civil partners
• survivor benefits in occupational pension schemes, and
• survivor benefits for public service pensions
