NARPO President Richard Critchley and CEO Alan Lees were honoured to attend the 5th Anniversary Ceremony of Remembrance at the UK Police Memorial, joining bereaved families, policing colleagues and representatives from across the police service to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Marking five years since the Memorial was dedicated by His Majesty The King (then HRH The Prince of Wales), this year’s ceremony also saw the launch of the new Digital Tribute Wall, where family, friends, colleagues and members of the public can leave messages of remembrance in honour of fallen officers.
Since the ceremony, His Majesty The King has sent a personal message to the police family, offering his “warmest good wishes” and paying tribute to the courage and sacrifice of those who gave their lives in service. His message was read during the Ceremony of Remembrance and recognised the dedication of the UK Police Memorial in ensuring their memory lives on.
