The Gratitude Games – a fun, exciting event to help support Emergency Responders’ and NHS staff mental health
Come and join in The Gratitude Games, a fun, inclusive mix of sporting events in Manchester and around the country.
Open to current and former Emergency Responders (including NARPO), NHS staff and families, and the wider public, it’s your chance to run, walk, cycle, golf, fish, shoot; there are eight great events to choose from. Why not give one of the sports a try with family and friends?
Featured events include the Great Manchester Run, one of the country’s most popular running events with over 20,000 participants running and walking to raise money for good causes, and the Tour de Manc cycling event which offers a mix of distances for all abilities and all types of bike.
Colin Jackson, Olympic Medallist and BBC commentator says;
“The Gratitude Games is something really unique that the whole country should get behind. Many of us just assume the emergency services will be there if we ever need them, however, many emergency responders see and experience unthinkable things which understandably affects their mental health. Mental health challenges are having a major impact on the emergency service workforce and this is only being compounded by a lack of funds limiting services to support them. Sport has the power to bring people together; it creates that sense of community and belonging and show people who are struggling they are not alone.
Come and join us! Get involved!
Without supporting them – whether it’s taking part, supporting from the sidelines, volunteering at one of the events or simply giving a donation – they can’t support us”.
It would be great to see you there!
