In honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s 70th year as our Monarch and Head of the Commonwealth, we have compiled a list of key Jubilee activities from around the UK, ideal for NARPO members looking to get involved in the celebrations.

The Big Jubilee Lunch

NARPO has teamed up with the Eden Project Communities to encourage branches to support the Big Jubilee Lunch, which will be bringing the Platinum Jubilee celebrations into the heart of every community on 2nd-5th June. With over 12 million people expected to take part, the whole nation is invited to throw open their doors and take to their streets, gardens, and neighbourhoods to share food, have fun and get to know each other a little better.

Volunteering Opportunities

‘As you will all appreciate, there will be larger Big Jubilee Lunch events around the UK. From large picnics on Wembley’s pitch to 1800 people along the promenade at Morecambe. With many more firming up by the day we are hoping to offer some ‘expert volunteers’ to help organisers out on the day, be it setting up, stewarding, or chatting and welcoming guests. We would love to involve members of NARPO in this way so please look out for more details coming soon or get in touch and we will hopefully match people and places. I am so pleased that we will be able to involve NARPO’s members across the country; bringing additional capacity and confidence to those working to bring people together for food friendship and fun for the Platinum Jubilee, a once in a lifetime opportunity’.
