The influential Communities and Local Government Select Committee has published a report following their inquiry into housing and older people.
The Committee’s final report, which featured evidence from Later Life Ambitions (LLA) throughout, recommends that a national strategy for older people’s housing is needed to bring together and improve policy in this area.
The Committee also agreed with LLA’s suggestion that all new homes should be built to accessible and adaptable standards so that they are ‘age proofed’ and can meet the current and future needs of older people.
