About North Kent Branch

The North Kent Branch of the National Association of Retired Police Officer serves the Kent Police Area of North Kent which included the towns of Gravesend, Dartford and Swanley including the urbanized villages in between.
The area borders on the Metropolitan Policing town’s of Bexleyheath and Sidcup with most of their members who live in Kent prefer joining the London Branch of NARPO

We are a small Branch of just 160+ members as the Policing area covered, is made up of young in service Officers.
Information published by the Branch mainly covers what’s of interest and happening in Kent.
The Branch welcomes new members. Retired officers being full members with Special Constables and PCSO being welcomed as Associated Members

The Branch consists of retired Police Officers and partners, Partners of deceased members, Associated Members including Special Constables and PCSO. All mostly living locally with a few scattered around the UK and some overseas members living in Europe and as far as Australia.

The Branch members meet 3 time a year at a local Golf Club in Gravesend. The AGM is in April, a late Summer (Informal catch up) meeting in September and a December meeting and Christmas Social with buffet and raffle. 

Weather permitting a ‘Coffee and Cake’ get togather is held at a local garden centre.

The Officials of the Branch are elected at the AGM, Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer and Deputies.

An Honorary President is also elected in recognition and gratitude of being a member who has supported and served the Branch.

Most communication with the Members is by emails with 3 Newsletter distributed just before the Branch meeting  (as a reminder !!) Posted newsletters  at the same time are sent out to this members who do not  have email facility 

Regular Branch update are sent out by emails including news from NARPO HQ, Pension updates and circulations of interest to members.

The Branch has an excellent relationship with Kent Police and with the four other Branches in Kent including East Kent, Maidstone , Medway and West Kent and meet regularly with a representative from Kent Police at the Kent Police Training College in Maidstone.

In conjunction with Kent Police an ‘’Old Comrades Lunch’’ is held, usually in July, with the Chief Constable or a Senior Officers attending.

The Branch also has a Welfare Officer who in conjunction with the Kent Police and and Kent Staff Benevolent Fund provide full unobtrusive welfare assistance to our members.
