Special Ops is a documentary series looking at the work of the super-specialist, elite police teams across the UK that are assembled to make a breakthrough in investigations. The stories are told first hand from a police perspective, giving insight into how they came to crack the case.
We are keen to hear from retired police officers who would be happy to be interviewed about any major crime investigations they worked on with interesting twists and turns, perhaps a case that never got the publicity it deserved or never broke into the mainstream. These cases can cover any type of crime – our previous series featured murder investigations, human trafficking, romance fraud, county lines drugs cases and many others.
The most important element we are looking for is any audio visual materials relating to the case. This could be CCTV, stills of evidence seized, body worn video or interview room audio/footage. This sort of material really helps tell the story to the audience in the most compelling way so it would be good to know if the officers have access to any similar material or are aware of any in the public domain.
Special Ops Series 3 has just finished airing weekly on Dave and did really well, become Dave’s highest rated show on their streaming platform UKTV Play. Feel free to have a watch on the following link: https://uktvplay.co.uk/shows/special-ops-crime-squad-uk/series-3/episode-1/6343724840112
