North Kent Further Information
The Branch consists of retired Police Officers and partners, Partners of deceased members, Associated Members including Special Constables and PCSO. All mostly living locally with a few scattered around the UK and some overseas members living in Europe and as far as Australia.
The Branch members meet 3 time a year at a local Golf Club in Gravesend. The AGM is in April, a late Summer (Informal catch up) meeting in September and a December meeting and Christmas Social with buffet and raffle.
Weather permitting a ‘Coffee and Cake’ get togather is held at a local garden centre.
The Officials of the Branch are elected at the AGM, Chairman and Secretary/Treasurer and Deputies.
An Honorary President is also elected in recognition and gratitude of being a member who has supported and served the Branch.
Most communication with the Members is by emails with 3 Newsletter distributed just before the Branch meeting (as a reminder !!) Posted newsletters at the same time are sent out to this members who do not have email facility
Regular Branch update are sent out by emails including news from NARPO HQ, Pension updates and circulations of interest to members.
The Branch has an excellent relationship with Kent Police and with the four other Branches in Kent including East Kent, Maidstone , Medway and West Kent and meet regularly with a representative from Kent Police at the Kent Police Training College in Maidstone.
In conjunction with Kent Police an ‘’Old Comrades Lunch’’ is held, usually in July, with the Chief Constable or a Senior Officers attending.
The Branch also has a Welfare Officer who in conjunction with the Kent Police and and Kent Staff Benevolent Fund provide full unobtrusive welfare assistance to our members.
